제목 없음NTS is currently holding, with great success, consecutive meetings with four
organizations related to foreign companies, for the purpose of gathering their
opinions regarding the basic direction of the administration of international
taxation and any difficulties or concerns regarding taxation.
- About 100 attendees were present at meeting with the European Chamber of
Commerce (Eucham) held at the Hyatt Hotel on February 26, 2002 (Tuesday).
- About 30 representatives of foreign companies attended a meeting with the
Foreign Bank Group (FBG) held at Lotte Hotel on February 28, 2002
(Thursday).
- The representatives of 48 companies including Hitachi attended the meeting
at the Seoul Japan Club at the Press Center on March 7, 2002 (Thursday) and
asked tax-related questions. They were especially interested in tax adjustments
regarding money lent by the local branch of foreign banks to their employees for
their welfare.
- More than 90 representatives of American companies attended the meeting
with the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) on March 12, 2002. They were also
interested in the current hot issues regarding the stock options of officers and
employees at foreign invested companies. and asked about whether they should be
taxed under comprehensive income tax return for their income from exercised
option which is less than 40 million Won.
The director of the International Resource Management Division was present to
provide answers to any questions raised during the meetings, and satisfied the
attendees\' immediate curiosities regarding international taxation.
